laureni + gboyega engaged

I had too much fun shooting Laureni and Gboyega
their love is just so natural
made the shoot organic

it was the perfect day in DC
clear skies and sunlight
started off getting Laureni dolled up
I styled her
and had her makeup done by divine touch makeup

I followed these two on their sweet day together
stroll through the park
starbucks
then out in town
"how did you two meet?"
"fall 2006 at Target
he worked at Starbucks I worked in the pharmacy
I went to buy lunch and he asked to see my glasses
which I thought was strange
but eventually
I took them off and handed it to him
then he said
' I just wanted to see your eyes'
that's the line he used
guess we can say it worked!"
"how did you know she was the one?"
"you just know. . . i mean, she was just different
just different from anyone i've ever met
she's perfect"
"how did you know he was the one?"
"it was once
we had a big fight and didnt' speak for a while
but even in that time
i still wanted to be with him"

pure joy shooting these two
I wish them nothing but the best in their future

lone traveler

the lone traveler
doesn't live based on social construct
but on a much broader perspective
he wanders alone
taking in sights, tastes and experiences
he interacts with people from all walks of life
moulding his own unique views

latch

heard the original version of Sam Smith's "Latch" a while back
didn't think much of it
somehow I was distracted by the beat and paid no mind to the lyrics
it wasn't until i shot a wedding a few weekends back
the couple's first dance was to the acoustic version
. . .
now i've got you in my space
i won't let go of you
got you shackled in my embrace
i'm latching on to you
. . .

the hopeless romantic in me keeps this song on constant repeat

*ps: I shot said wedding for Kanayo Adibe Photograhy. Check out the images on his site
